LECTURE
WEEK 1
This week is the first week of the semester. In class, we confirmed that we will continue to advance the project along the overall theme of Major 1, and had extensive discussions and consultations with Professor Vitaya.
This discussion mainly revolved around the final presentation of the project, including whether a physical booth is needed, and whether the products need to be produced in a complete physical form, such as the perfume itself, packaging design, and related promotional materials (such as posters and brochures). These questions helped us to better understand the requirements of the final project output.
In addition, we further explored the product line planning, such as whether to design three different fragrances and sizes, and whether to produce samples for subsequent demonstrations and experiences. These discussions led us to start thinking about how the brand will be presented in the actual market, not just visual design.
Finally, we also consulted the professor about the possibility of brand extension, including whether to develop related derivative products to enhance the overall integrity and consistency of the brand.
Through this week's discussions, we have gained a clearer understanding of the project's direction and laid the foundation for subsequent design and production.
Major Course 1 Task 3 Link:
Task 3_,作者 CHENYI LINMy responsibilities include:
In addition, during this week's discussions and reflections, we made a significant adjustment to our product direction. We ultimately decided to remove the original lavender design and instead develop three different scented fragrances based on the concept of "flowers, grasses, and trees": orchid, lemon balm, and sandalwood.
This adjustment makes the overall product line clearer and more systematic, making the brand conceptually more complete and unified. At the same time, these three scents represent different natural images, which better aligns with the natural and soothing brand atmosphere we want to convey.
Regarding team division of labor, I was primarily responsible for the design of all product stickers and fragrance cards, including the information layout and visual style consistency of the packaging labels. This allowed me to practice layout design and brand visual expression more deeply within the project.
This is our original sticker design style:
My primary responsibility was designing all product stickers and fragrance cards, including three labels for four different perfume sizes and ensuring visual consistency across the three different scents. I was also responsible for designing the fragrance descriptions for the perfume and scented candle cards and completing the initial layout design for the front and back of the cards.
After determining the overall direction, we further organized and confirmed all current product content, including core products, display materials, and some brand extensions. Simultaneously, we finalized the brand's overall visual style, including colors, fonts, and some details, making the entire design look more unified and brand-oriented.
Additionally, we restructured the product lines and fragrance settings, clarifying the style and positioning of different series, making the overall brand structure clearer. During the discussions, Ms. Vitayaa expressed her approval of our ideas, which gave us more confidence in the project.
I attempted to innovate in the product experience. I planned to design a unique fragrance card, in card format, with a water-sensitive sticker in the center. When the perfume is sprayed on the card, the image will gradually appear.
WEEK 3
This week, after receiving the purchased bottles, Liang lina began measuring the exact dimensions of each bottle and adjusting the design based on feedback. Simultaneously, I worked on designing perfume samples and perfume cards, and prepared to purchase all the necessary products for the final display.

WEEK 4
This week we received feedback from Ms. Vitayaa, who expressed satisfaction with Wang Shengxiao's brochure design, noting significant improvement. Regarding product specifications, she suggested we choose four out of five options, excluding the 20ml size, and also advised against including the 0.1ml size in the final series.
Regarding perfume packaging, we discussed two options:
- First, maintain a consistent design for the stickers, labels, and outer packaging, but the layout of the smallest sample size needs to be rearranged;
- Second, maintain a consistent visual style, and optionally add ingredient images to enhance the product's narrative, but this is not mandatory.
My latest revised stickers and round sealing stickers for the four perfume sizes:
WEEK 5
This week I started designing the sealing stickers for the packaging, three types of essential oil stickers, three types of shower gel and shampoo stickers, and revising three types of scented candle stickers.
In class, Ms. Vitia pointed out a problem with our shower gel label, mainly the inconsistent color tones of the illustration, which affected the overall visual consistency. However, Chen Yi had already ordered the custom labels before they were finalized, leading to the need for subsequent revisions and reproduction, increasing time and money costs.
After making adjustments, we promptly revised the design and went to a nearby printing shop to print the latest version. Through this experience, I realized the importance of strictly controlling the review process in the design workflow to avoid unnecessary waste of resources due to communication or process issues. It also made me more aware of the importance of teamwork and project time management.
WEEK 6
Based on feedback, I revised the information on the shower gel and shampoo stickers and added perforated card labels and soap information stickers.
After confirming that all stickers and cards were in order, I contacted the vendor to print them. Through this step, I completed the entire process from design revisions to actual implementation. (All stickers are made of a wood grain texture.)
Lin Chenyi was responsible for the design of the card series, including the instruction manuals for scented candles, three fragrance scent description cards, and three fragrance sample cards. For the product sticker series, she designed stickers for multiple product categories, including: three perfume stickers in four different sizes, three soap stickers, three shower gel and shampoo stickers, three essential oil stickers, and three scented candle stickers.
In addition, all team members participated in product selection and purchasing, the creation of the team's presentation slides, and collaboratively refined the final presentation content.
WEEK 7
All the modifications were completed by the end of Week 6. In Week 7, we brought all the physical products to class for final packaging and arrangement. Ms. V expressed her appreciation for our work, which showed that our improvements were effective.

FEEDBACK
WEEK 1
Whether a physical booth is required is yet to be determined, but a complete set of physical products, including packaging and promotional materials (such as posters and brochures), is necessary.
Regarding product planning, the perfume will be developed into three scents and three sizes, and samples and trial sizes will be provided to enhance the experience. At the same time, derivative products also need to be redesigned to strengthen the brand's overall cohesion.
WEEK 2
Ms. Vitayaa approved of our overall direction and product planning, which gave us more confidence in the current design. At the same time, she emphasized the necessity of completing core physical deliverables, including main products and related promotional materials such as posters and brochures, regardless of whether a booth is ultimately set up.
These elements reflect the brand's integrity and the overall execution. In addition, we need to prepare some booth-related display supplies in advance to meet subsequent display needs.
WEEK 3
Spring Festival holiday
WEEK 4
Regarding the selection of product specifications, it is recommended to choose four from the five available specifications as the final option, and it is advised not to include the 20 ml specification.
WEEK 5
This week we received further feedback regarding the visual and packaging design. Firstly, product images need to be cleaner and more consistent, free from borders, boxes, or backgrounds. There are also inconsistencies in style and color matching, requiring adjustments. The typography also needs optimization; the current letter spacing is too large, affecting the overall aesthetics.
In terms of details, all text on the sealing stickers needs to be centered, and the brand logo needs to be consistent (adjusted based on Ms. Vitiyaa's modifications). The packaging needs additional images, and the layout and material differentiation for different sizes need improvement (these modifications have been completed).
Furthermore, product displays can initially focus on developing one flavor, and a complete product information design for the soap is needed.
WEEK 6
Continue to optimize
REFLECTION
Experience
Reflection
Experience: In this project, I was primarily responsible for the production of product stickers, cards, and some packaging design. I also participated in continuously revising the designs based on feedback and completing the final physical product assembly and display. From the initial concept design to later size adjustments, printing coordination, and the final product presentation, I was involved in the entire process. This gave me my first relatively complete experience of a brand's journey from design to implementation, and also provided me with a more intuitive understanding of actual production.
Observation
Regarding teamwork, we initially struggled to work together effectively. Our ideas and work styles differed, leading to some communication difficulties. Later, some minor conflicts arose due to product materials and customization issues. For example, some team members felt that customizing perfumes was unnecessary, believing it would increase costs and time pressure. However, I observed that as long as everyone was willing to communicate and adjust, problems could be gradually resolved.
Furthermore, in terms of design, I also clearly felt the importance of consistency. For example, the color scheme, layout, and style of the stickers, if not well controlled, would affect the overall brand effect. Furthermore, proceeding with production without thorough confirmation can easily lead to a waste of time and money.
Discovery
Through this project, my biggest takeaways weren't just improved design skills, but also valuable experience in teamwork and project management. I realized that design isn't just about making things look good; it also requires considering practical execution, cost, and coordination within the team. When disagreements arise, finding a mutually acceptable balance is more important than insisting on one's own ideas.
Although there were some conflicts and problems along the way, we ultimately completed the project successfully and presented all the products. This made me realize that while teamwork isn't easy, it's also a crucial learning process, giving me more confidence for similar projects in the future.
